Nutrition By The Cup

I had one weird, funny, exciting, devastating, tiresome, happy- and what not 2 weeks.

Feb 6 was my first day at work. I work as a cashier at Chowking, Cerritos.

It's funny because as a kid, my other dream (aside from my very pangarap- to be a teacher) was always to be a cashier. Me and my cousin, Therese, always pretended to be cashiers back when we were still neighbors and I loved every minute of it. And here I am- dream come true? HAHAHA. I applied there last Jan 12 but didn't expect to get in because 2 weeks had already passed after my interview. I was sure that the reason behind it was my inflexible time schedule. It's 7am- 5pm only because I take the bus. It's an hour long trip from our house. So the earliest trip would take me there by 6:30 am and I didn't want to stay too late because it would be scary to travel alone at night and plus the fact that it would be freezing. I also said that I won't work at weekends because it's family time. Sooo, the manager told me that it was really difficult to find a schedule for me. But Viola! After almost a month, I was asked to report. Yey! I've got me work! YEAH.

The reason why I chose to apply at Chowking was because of the crowd. It meant that I would most probably be surrounded by Filipino people. That meant less pressure.

The first day was scary because I had to immediately deal with customers and poke at the monitor. I had to take orders and look for them in the computer menu. The meals were in folders so I had to think which category it belonged to and I had NO idea. For the record, I have to say, I have never eaten at a Chowking store everr. I mean everrr. I was never a fan. I don't know why I never tried one back in Davao. Everything was new to me. Thank God I had Kuya Rom to ask help from. He was VERY patient with me and really helped me to feel at home at Chowking. It's sad though cause I only had 3 days to work with him because he moved somewhere else to pursue his dreams. Well, I'm just happy that it was him who welcomed me to the "working" world. I AM NOW EARNING WAAAY BEFORE MY TWO OLDER SIBLINGS. HAHAHAHA HELLOOO. HAHAHA XD

At work, I also have fun cause I have new pinoy friends. There are like four 19-ish teens (teens still right? :D) who were somewhat new here too. So it was cool to have more people to add to my friends list.

On my 3rd day at work, my co-workers (I can't believe I'm saying that XD) invited me to go bowling with them. We went to a bowling alley somewhere at Carmenita. We played Dance Dance Revolution while waiting for our turn and some of the guys played that game where a clamp catches stuff toys. Diba impossible man makakakuha nyan? Or at least in my experience. In my 17 years in this world, it was my first time to see someone actually winning a toy from that game. And I must emphasize, they were able to take SEVEN out of 10 tries!! Weird huh. I got to take home 2. haha :P After playing one set, we decided to leave and eat somewhere. We found a Denny's restaurant so we ate there and I got to know them more. By a little past 3, I was taken home by Kim and her kuya. I had a blast.

Gosh. Documentary naman toh. haha. Antok na ako. Gusto ko pang idocument ang last week ko, bukas na lang siguro. Matulog na ako, I have work tomorrow by 10. So there. :P

I WANT TO TELL YOU ABOUT MY SHATTERED DREAMS.
MAYBE TOMORROW.
HAHAHA. YEAH- SHATTERED. XD

Hi. So how was your week? :p

BELATED HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TO ALL! :)
HERE'S A MODERN LOVE SONG I WOULD LOVE TO SHARE WITH YOU.

Sleeping Beauty’s in a foul mood
for shame she says, "None for you dear prince, I’m tired today."
I’d rather sleep my whole life away than have you
keep me from dreaming.
